  7.     Laceless is an icon collection for non-interlaced Workbenches and, at
  8. present, contains icondrawers - both for the Workbench standard drawers and
  9. for some general-purpose application drawers, and a few icons for prefs
  10. editors.
  11.     
  12.     The icons are drawn in the standard 4-colour palette for WB 3.0 and are
  13. about 1 pixel higher than the standard drawer icons (this is due to the way
  14. WB puts borders round the icons). All the files are exactly the same size as
  15. the originals, except Prefs.info which is smaller!
  16.     
  17.     The archive contains an installer script which will change your existing
  18. icons to the Laceless ones. The script is nicer with the IconPos utility from
  19. the WB3.0 install disk, but can function perfectly well without it. If you
  20. don't have IconPos, then the install script will just copy the icons, and you
  21. will lose any snapshotting which has been applied to the icon or its drawer.
  22. With IconPos, the images are copied across without disturbing the position of
  23. the icons, or the size of their windows.

  25.     The archive also contains a small script file to apply icon images to
  26. existing icons, this too uses IconPos and requires that an assign be set up
  27. to point to the Laceless drawer (this can be handled by the install script).

  29.     As of V1.1 onwards I have included Laceless style icons for some popular
  30. programs' prefs editors.  These are:-
  31.       ClassAct, MagicMenu, MCPPrefs, NewIconsPrefs, TurboPrefs & Yak.
  32.     These were created to give a consistent Prefs drawer, although I have
  33. since removed the Turbo Print demo from my system, I'm still including the
  34. icon for you lot (aren't I nice? :-) )
  35.     These are all 4 colour except for NewIconsPrefs - which is 8 colour, but
  36. still looks OK on a 4 colour Workbench.
  37.     These icons are NOT installed by the installer script, as I think you
  38. should choose for yourself if you want to replace someone else's work with
  39. mine.  I'm not a megalomaniac, honest.  :-)

  41.     Laceless is FREE. Just send me an email if you like (or dislike) the
  42. icons. I'm open to (constructive) criticism, and any suggestions that are
  43. taken up will earn the suggester a greet in the docs (big wow :-) ).
